Chapter Seven, Wings of Angels Seven
He thought that trusting this person might be the most unreliable decision he would ever make in his life, but now he decided to take a gamble. What he was betting on was not the feeling that Jiang Hu gave him, nor Jiang Hu's educational background, but rather Mo Cong's insight
The man's attention was drawn to him, his bloodshot eyes gazing at him in confusion, slowly nodding: "How do you know she doesn't have wings?"
What? Su Junzi frowned immediately upon hearing this
The man furrowed his brow, as if he were somewhat swayed by him. He slowly, gradually lowered the hand holding the knife and gently released the girl's neck, causing the tension in the hearts of the onlookers to gradually ease.
"It won't work ahead, we need to..." Su Junzi's words were left unfinished as both of their phones rang simultaneously
Sheng Yao revealed a somewhat stiff smile: "Don't, I haven't planned to give up the whole forest for a single tree... Why don't you give your sister-in-law a call? After all, it's on the way to take you back. Should I turn left at the intersection ahead?"
Behind Building 4, in the abandoned house
Thus, Mr. Su smiled and said: "Sheng Yao, haven't you settled down with a girlfriend yet?"
"Your mother?" Jiang Hu's gaze quickly shifted to the woman tightly held by the agent, his eyebrows raising slightly, "What your mother said is incorrect. I know your mother; she is a bad person."
"He is truly a villain. Look at all these police officers; they are all here to apprehend her." Jiang Hu turned around and glanced at Shen Ye Xi. For some reason, Shen Ye Xi quickly understood the meaning behind his gaze and whispered, "Just detain that woman; pretending will suffice."
Shen Yexi gazed at him deeply and waved his hand: "Search!"
Yining called to say that someone just reported a case of a missing child, and it is from the Angel's Home Choir, with the same age and physical characteristics.
The man remains wary, shaking his head
Shen Yexi said: "She is not the person you are looking for, she does not have wings, you do not want to hurt her, do you?"
However, the man who had already calmed down suddenly became agitated, interrupting Jiang Hu's words with a loud shout: "I am not! I am not, you are talking nonsense!"
Shen Yexi, however, tucked the gun back into his waist, waved his hand, stood beside Yang Man, and said in a deep voice: "Let go of that child, I believe you do not want to harm him"
I understand, Sheng Yao nodded slightly, "Just now, Team Shen informed me of their predictions regarding the possible next location of the murderer. I just didn't expect that within such a short time, he would abduct another child."
Jiang Hu stood in front of the large clock and the old photographs in the room for a long time. The photographs were hung very high, and he slightly tilted his head back, revealing his sharp chin. He had no particular expression, yet Shen Yexi felt that this person was quietly grieving over something.
Shen Yexi's gaze turned cold: "Received, location."
The man indeed nodded slightly, his attention shifting from the young girl to Jiang Hu. He scrutinized Jiang Hu warily and asked, "Are you a police officer?"
This scene is somewhat eerie, as Yang Man raises the gun and aims it at the man behind the little girl—one of the man's hands is on the child's neck, while the other hand pulls a knife from his pocket: "You, you are not allowed to come closer!"
A whisper suddenly came through the headphones: "Target detected, all teams pay attention, target detected"
Yang Man let out a cold laugh: "I see, so it turns out you are such a person, neither human nor ghost. Are you a man? Do you count as a human? You only dare to harm children; what’s the matter, are you afraid when you see adults? Are you at a loss?"
Jiang Hu nodded slightly
Jiang Hu nodded slightly to him, and then he turned to the man who had stabilized a bit: "Lin Lin, your name is Lin Lin, isn't it?"
Shen Yexi immediately deployed, "Sheng Yao Junzi, take your people to go around from the back. Yang Man, we will go in front. Jiang Hu, you didn't bring a gun, stay behind me. Hurry, move out."
Sheng Yao glanced at him in the rearview mirror: "Alright, don't think I didn't see. It's been quite a while, you've secretly made four or five calls home, haven't you? Just go back, everyone understands you. Besides, there are plenty of people for the job of catching criminals, we don't need one more of you."
Shen Yexi continued, "Then let her go. You actually don't want to hurt these children at all, do you? You like children, don't you?"
It is as if someone is watching the person in the photograph, and at the same time, it seems that the person in the photograph is looking outwards, each observing, each coveting, each attracting, and each harboring hatred towards one another
"Because your elementary school teacher mentioned you to me many times, she said you are an exceptionally outstanding and perfect child, and that we should all learn from you." Jiang Hu's voice, reminiscent of a central news broadcaster, emphasized the word "perfect" with a heightened tone
In the abandoned courtyard, there were two small stools, one occupied by a slender man and the other by a little girl dressed in a white dress with angel wings on her back, sitting on either side. A circle of white candles surrounded them, along with a variety of fresh flowers purchased from a florist. The man was startled by a loud noise, jumping up and quickly darting behind the little girl.
Yang Man glanced at him sideways. At this moment, Sheng Yao and Su Junzi, accompanied by others, encircled from behind, leaving the man who had kidnapped the child in a desperate situation.
The child did not dare to make a sound, sobbing intermittently. Just when everything seemed to be in vain, Shen Yexi shot a fierce glare at the careless agent.
He walked to the side of Jiang Lake and said, "What do you see?"
Su Junzi turned his face around. At that moment, the inside of the car was very dim and vague. He could only see that Sheng Yao's profile was extremely handsome, with features that seemed to be finely sculpted. This person was raised in a pampered environment by women, coming from a good family and possessing good looks. Indeed, even if he were a bit spoiled, no one would say anything. But how could he be so gentle?
Doctor? The man is a bit confused
Behind Building 4 is a narrow and dark alley, located in a rather remote area where urban development is lacking. There are many dilapidated houses that are no longer inhabited. Yang Man kicked down the entire door of the abandoned residence with one foot, ... this former professional karate athlete is indeed a bit ... overly fierce
Shen Yexi smiled: "Of course she doesn't have wings; what she has on her back are the fake wings you bought for her, right?"
Shen Yexi made a gesture of pressing down towards her, signaling her to remain calm.
On that night, this obscure residential area was bustling with activity. A convoy of police cars arrived from different directions and parked downstairs, sirens blaring, their lights illuminating the night in a kaleidoscope of colors. Countless onlookers gathered at their windows to watch the scene unfold—police were making arrests, and they were armed!
This time, the man was completely stunned, as if he could not comprehend the statement. His neck twitched nervously to the side: "My mother is a bad person?"
At this moment, Jiang Hu suddenly sighed, clapped his hands, and gently called out: "Lin Lin"
Shen Yexi softly said from behind: "It's almost time to stop moving forward, it's dangerous"
The man, upon hearing the scream, seemed to be greatly startled. He lifted the little girl with one hand, a bright knife pressed against her delicate, pale neck, anxiously pacing in circles: "No, no, don't come over! Don't come over! I did something wrong, I did something wrong! Don't come over, don't come over!"
Shen Yexi pulled Jiang Hu's arm and tugged him back two steps. Initially intending to push him behind, he instinctively relaxed his grip upon seeing the unchanging calmness on Jiang Hu's face. Jiang Hu then spoke in that gentle and soothing voice: "I don't know, but your teacher says you are."
Sheng Yao fell silent for a moment, then said, "Understood," before suddenly turning the steering wheel and turning on the siren.
The man glanced at Shen Yexi, then at the child in his arms who was on the verge of tears. After a moment of hesitation, he loosened his grip on the child's neck a little.
Yang Man glanced at Shen Yexi—this is too ridiculous
The man took a step back with some caution: "You... who are you? How do you know my name?"
Jiang Hu smiled and said: "I know your name is Xu Lin, you attended Taiping Road Primary School at the intersection, didn't you? I was also from there and I even know one of your teachers."
Director Mo shamelessly exploited the connections of his partner to bring in individuals, and we must not let everyone down
The man turned his head, as if searching for something, a bit anxiously: "But, but she said... my mother said..."
I am not, I am just a doctor, a physician. Jiang Hu stepped forward again
At that moment, a woman resembling a nightingale, intoxicated, walked through the dim alley. Upon suddenly seeing so many armed police officers and the tense atmosphere ready to erupt, she was startled into sobriety, dropping her handbag to the ground, which emitted a short, sharp scream. Although an agent rushing over immediately covered her mouth and pulled her aside, it was already too late
Sheng Yao was taken aback: "Ah?"
Someone drew a huge eye there with a black marker, and the photo is right in the pupil of that eye
Jiang Hu nodded slightly, no longer entangled in this question: "As soon as I see you, I remember, do you know why?"
Yet that gentle voice easily penetrated the man's roar, causing him to stop and stare blankly at Jiang Hu: "Really?"
While they were searching, Sheng Yao and Su Junzi were driving here. Su Junzi occasionally glanced out the window, a barely noticeable restlessness on his face. Sheng Yao said, "How about I take you home? It seems that Yang Man has already identified the suspect, and there are enough personnel."
The main door slammed shut with a loud bang, and at the same time, the people inside the room appeared before everyone.
Su Junzi rubbed his nose bridge and smiled: "I won't be able to settle down at home either, so I might as well stay with you all. Ever since Ye Xi returned, everyone's efficiency has noticeably increased, and we might even catch someone tonight."
Without warmth, it is merely pathological. Jiang Hu said: "But I feel that I have somewhat come to understand where he is going next."
Jiang Hu still maintains that slow yet assuredly calm voice saying: "Hmm"
There is nothing, except despair. This room has only a particularly dim light, cramped and narrow, with a large clock occupying an entire wall, like a cold and indifferent judge. Everything presents a strange order, as if all had been measured with a ruler. On the wall are photographs of women and children, and the attire of the children closely resembles that of the first missing child
Su Junzi shook his head: "How about I keep an eye out for you one day? Any girl who can find someone as attentive and considerate as you is indeed fortunate"
His voice was very gentle, almost easily overlooked if one was not paying attention, yet it successfully calmed the anxious man down. Jiang Hu patted Shen Yexi on the shoulder, passed by him, and walked to the front. Shen Yexi instinctively made a gesture to stop him, but ultimately let him pass.
The startled oriole, rendered speechless, was pretended to be handcuffed by several agents, while Jiang Hu raised his chin towards that direction and said, "Just take a look if you don't believe me"
Shen Yexi opened the car door and jumped down: "Jiang Hu, are you sure?"
Jiang Hu shook his head: "There is nothing."
The little girl in the white dress was initially startled by these armed individuals who did not seem very friendly, but then she caught sight of Jiang Hu standing protectively behind her. With her big eyes blinking, she said in a sweet, childish voice: "You are the big brother who came to the choir that day"
